When it comes to packing for a day on the beach, the items you bring along in your beach bag are essential to how your beach experience plays out. Forget your sunscreen and you’ll be regretting it for days to come. Leave your texture spray behind and you’ll have frizzy windblown hair the whole time. Whether you’re on vacation or just spending the day at a nearby pool, making sure you have everything you need in your beach bag is the first step to having a perfect beach day. I’ve rounded up my beach bag essentials that have come in handy here on my South Carolina vacation.
If you’re like me, that sweaty, sticky, sandy feeling on my face makes me feel so gross. Face wipes come in handy when you need a quick freshen up and makes reapplying face lotion feel so much better than rubbing in all that gunk. Plus, if you need to wipe off your hands for a snack just grab a face wipe!
While some people get perfectly textured hair on the beach, I need a little extra help. The Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray has been my go-to for years now. Just a quick spritz all over and a little scrunching and you’re all set!
Probably an obvious pick but it’s an important one! Just yesterday I went for a walk on the beach when it was cloudy and guess what I got? Yup, burnt shoulders. Whether it’s sunny or cloudy.. bring the sunscreen! Just do it. This Banana Boat one is my all time fave.
I hate putting normal sunscreen on my face. Hello clogged pores! Even the sunscreen lotions that are specifically for your face tend to irritate or cause breakouts. I always use a face lotion that has spf, and Aveeno’s daily moisturizer has been my long time fave.
Okay, we all know you can get a little less than fresh on a day at the beach. And maybe not just a little. Bring along a body spray. A quick spray will keep you smelling as good as you did when you arrived at the beach, and not like a smelly beach bum when you leave. There’s nothing more relaxing than a good book while relaxing on the beach. Add in a summertime cocktail and I’m in heaven. I brought two along with me for our SC trip, Black-Eyed Susans, which I highly recommend, and The Woman in Cabin 10 which I’ll be starting soon.
Summer is just around the corner, so plan a trip to the beach or pool, pack your bag with these beach bag essentials, and enjoy the day.
