You know those random days when you plan on having a super productive day, only to find yourself out shopping for things you really don’t need? Okay, a couple things I did need. But still, how does this happen? The bad part, I spent more money than anticipated. The good part, I found a few new beauty FAVES. Ever since Benefit opened downtown Naperville I’ve been wanting to check it out. During one of my spontaneous shopping sprees, I finally stopped by. I went in wanting to try their brow kit and walked out with 3 additional products. I just couldn’t help myself.
The “Beauty Bar” set up always gets me. I find myself sitting in the chair thinking, “Of course I’m going to buy that foundation you just applied, and obviously the pore minimizer too.” Oh, and you want to give me an eye cream sample? I’ll take it. There’s just no stopping once you’ve started. I would much rather purchase beauty products after seeing how they look and feel before buying, which is the amazing part of the Benefit Beauty Bar. They were more than willing to help me try out any product that interested me and they were all extremely knowledgeable about everything.
And so, like I mentioned, I purchased the Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit in 03-medium. As someone who has been a die-hard eyebrow pencil fan for years, I felt like I needed to switch things up. I’ve always preferred brushes over pencils for eyeliner, so I figured the same might be the case for my eyebrows as well. And boy was I right. I’m obsessed with the combination of the shaping gel with setting powder, plus it comes with tweezers and a dual sided brush.
Along with the brow kit, I got the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Liquid Foundation in Ivory (ugh I’m pale). While it’s definitely not full coverage, this light to medium finish is perfect for a natural complexion. I love that it’s oil-free, lightweight, and SPF 25! Paired with the foundation, I splurged on the POREfessional Face Primer. This one was definitely an impulse buy, but it was one that I don’t regret. It’s silky smooth, keeps your makeup in place, minimizes pores, and contains vitamin E. Basically pure magic.
Last but certainly not least, the It’s Potent! Dark Circle Eye Cream sample they gave me. I guess I spent enough money for them to give me free stuff.. I’m not mad about it. While I’m lucky enough to not have dark circles, I do think this cream has minimized my slowly growing baggy under eyes. I just think it’s a perfect eye cream to moisturize, tighten and smooth for younger looking eyes. I’m already considering purchasing the full size once my sample runs out.
Ugh Benefit, you’ve sucked me in. I’ll definitely be back for more. Do you use any Benefit products I should try? Let me know!
